colour me beautiful

I've just discovered the many wonders and frustrations of The Sewing Machine.

These are my first two attempts at dress making: the one on the left used to be a Chinese style high-neck sleeved thing with buttons all down the front, which I moved to the side to make a more flattering scrunchy front, with straps that cross over at the back... The one on the right used to be a skirt that my mama first made when she was younger than me.

They are so so badly sewn, but only people who know about sewing will notice, hooray.
